Children and young people are the future of society.

Children and young people are the future of any human society on earth, the depletion of this special category of persons in any society denotes the weakening of that society. Extreme poverty, joblessness and lack have caused deep disillusionment, desperation and anxiety among young people especially in recent generation. Children and young people have remained the most vulnerable and disadvantaged of all human political, social and economic errors.

Investing in young people is crucial for global development.

The world has become hugely distressed by the menace of hunger, joblessness, starvation and recently by the phenomenon of irregular migration and human trafficking. To achieve inclusive, equitable and sustainable global development for present and future human generations, there is need for immense investment in children and youth with particular attention to their education, health, capacity and social welfare.

Who We Are

Lakeside Initiative was established to challenge these social obstacles and make measurable, palpable impact in Nigeria and beyond. Our primary focus is to give smile to the poor, vulnerable, marginalised children and empower young people to be responsible individuals. Our overall focus as an organisation is to contribute to the global pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals especially as concerns the children and young people. “We also involve ourselves in cross-cutting themes such as Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Public-Private Partnerships, Community Engagement, Nutrition, Technical Specialties and Agriculture.
